Join Floh members for a quintessentially Bangalore event – a Green Heritage Walk in Lalbagh with the exceptionally knowledgeable Vijay Thiruvady.
We had to push this event out by a week, since our host was hit by the ‘flu. But he’s well now and The Green Heritage Walk is back by popular demand! Conducted by Vijay Thiruvady, one of the best walking guides east of Greenwich. This walk includes breakfast at another Bangalore institution, MTR.
If you’ve always wanted to know more about Bangalore’s green heritage, this is the walk for you. If you know absolutely nothing about trees or nature, you will find this walk fun and eye-opening. For example, did you know that the rock in Lalbagh is over 3 Billion years old? Yes, you read that correctly. The walk has been inspired by similar walks in London and Boston and walkers are true-blue Bangaloreans as well as from over 50 countries and all over India. This isn’t an athletic outing and you’re encouraged to bring along your cameras.
To feed your ravenous appetite, the walk ends with breakfast at Bangalore’s iconic South Indian eatery, MTR.
It’s the perfect way to connect with other Floh members on a relaxed Sunday morning!
PS: Here are some comments from Floh members that attended the first walk:
“I’ve always wanted to visit Lalbagh and get to know Bangalore better, but never found company to go with. What a great way to do it with Floh members!”
“It’s like visiting a world-class museum right here in the heart of Bangalore”
